IMPORTANT NEWS AND INFO ! ! ! PDF Print E-mail
Written by Bro. Jerry Wilkins

 Exciting things continue to happen due to the power and grace of God. Everyday I hear wonderful accounts of people being saved and of others renewing commitment to the Lord.  Thank you to all those faithful Pastors and church members who seek ye first the Kingdom.

GOOD THINGS ARE GOING ON THROUGH ASSOCIATIONAL MISSIONS including FOOD AND CLOTHES AND A WITNESS to those in need, MEDICAL ASSISTANCE THROUGH THE GOOD SAMARITAN CLINIC, ASSISTANCE for STRUGGLING CHURCHES, and the ONGOING CARE of our PASTORS and CHURCHES.

OUTREACH MATERIALS AVAILABLE!  It has been proven by many of our churches that when the church gets out where the people are, knocking on doors and interacting with the unchurched, many respond. We still have "free materials" left over from GPS that any church can use to continue reaching out. Call 339-2273 for the materials or just drop by your Associational Resource Center. LARGE STREET MAPS are always available FREE at your Associational Resource Center...call 339-2273 to request yours.

NEIGHBORHOOD MISSIONS MINISTRY!  The Neighborhood Missions Ministry committee is hard at work. This ministry was approved at the April19th Associational Executive Board meeting. This meeting consisted of representatives from all of the Association's churches.  YOU CAN BE A NEIGHBORHOOD MISSIONARY  . . . be watching for your opportunity to sign up in the months ahead!

In the Know ! ! !

WHAT IS A "NEIGHBORHOOD MISSIONARY" ?

    The Neighborhood Missions Committee has begun its work and will be developing the guidelines for this new ministry. Until then let's think about "what is a neighborhood missionary anyhow?"

     Neighborhood Missionaries are Christians who feel the call of God to be missionaries to the neighbors around them. They have surrendered in their own local church to this call and have been recommended by their Pastor to the Neighborhood Missions committee. They have been commissioned by their local church and the Association after being trained and equipped to serve. They will pray for every neighbor, love and serve each and every neighbor, and as time goes on and the relationship grows, they will share their faith and an invitation to church. This is a long term process and a long term commitment in the Lord.  We are praying for 100 Neighborhood Missionaries by Jan. 1, then 500 by Dec. 2011, and 1000 by Dec. 2015. COME JOIN US IN A NEW ERA OF WINNING OUR COUNTY TO FAITH IN JESUS!

Our MISSION:

The Association's mission is to "assist member churches in the fulfilling of the Great Commission"!

Examples of this assistance include:

     * Training for church leaders

     * Evangelistic campaigns and projects

     * Public Relations media outreach to the lost and unchurched

     * Joint ministries that involve volunteers from many member churches

     * A pro-active effort to share Jesus with every act of service or ministry

WELCOME !

   We welcome you to our website....The churches of our Association seek to serve our Lord and our community as His ambassadors and communicators of His Good News for all people. We believe we can do more cooperating with each other than any one church can do alone...that's why we get together in meeting like this.

YOUR ASSOCIATIONAL STAFF TEAM

   The staff team of the Association is here to serve the pastors, ministers, layleaders, and members of the member churches. They have entrusted to the Associational Staff Team and the elected leaders the carrying out of many strategies and activities that will help the member churches be ON MISSION TOGETHER.

Touching People

Your Association is touching lives...
     ...THROUGH FOOD AND CLOTHES FOR THE NEEDY

     ... THROUGH FREE MEDICAL CARE FOR THE UNINSURED

     ... THROUGH OUTREACH AND MINISTRY TO STUDENTS ON LOCAL CAMPUSES

     ... THROUGH DISASTER RELIEF VOLUNTEERS ON TEAMS FOR FEEDING, CLEAN-UP, CHILDCARE, CHAINSAW WORK, AND COUNSELING DURING DISASTER.

     You see, hundreds of volunteers make Associational Missions what it is...caring people reaching out to people in need of spiritual, physical, and emotional assistance.
